The Wild Mind Project is delighted to announce that it has been awarded National Lottery Community funding, to support the wellbeing of young people.
“It’s a very welcome award, and will be of huge benefit to our organisation”, says co-founder Berny Simcox, “and we’d like to thank National Lottery players for their support. We are a small organisation with big beliefs about bringing creative and nature-based activities to a wide range of the community, from young people and their families, to caregivers and local healthcare professionals”.
The grant will enable The Wild Mind Project to set up a year-long pilot to encourage young people experiencing low self-esteem, stress and anxiety to engage deeply and creatively with their natural world.
“By combining the wellbeing benefits of purposeful creative activity with hands-on engagement in nature, the programme will include opportunities for self-empowerment through discovery-based learning”, Julia Ruppert, co-founder said, “and the results will inform future programme direction both for young people and the wider community”.
