LGBTQ+ Wellbeing Programme

This programme meets every Sunday morning for five weeks at our private nature plot in Stanmer Park. Throughout the programme, we offer a range of nature activities including walks, habitat creation, gardening, foraging and wildlife observation or surveying. We combine this with creative activities such as bundle dyeing, wool & basket weaving, wood carving, ink making, needle felting, lino cutting, pewter smelting, flower pressing and cooking on an open fire. Occasionally, we invite a specialist to run a workshop, which will last for the whole session.

Our plot offers a safe space to share your thoughts or feelings with other queer young people who are probably experiencing the same emotions or share the same worries as you. Importantly, you have the opportunity to meet a group of new supportive friends.

LGBTQ+ Monthly Drop-in Session

On the first Friday of the month, we are now offering an afternoon drop-in session for those of you who can’t commit to one of our 3 to 5-week programmes, want to connect with queer friends or need a nature top-up.

In each 2-hour session, we usually include a nature activity such as a walk, habitat creation or maintenance, gardening or a wildlife observation/survey. This is combined with a creative activity such as painting, weaving, pottery, needle felting, lino cutting or cooking on an open fire. Occasionally, we run workshops that last for the full two hours.
